I use the Wilson Reading System to teach literacy skills to students with dyslexia and other language based disabilities.
My name is Mary, and I am a special education teacher at a K-12 charter school. I teach students with disabilities on a wide range of topics, but I specialize in Wilson Reading System. I offer private tutoring for literacy skills, including decoding, vocabulary acquisition, reading fluency, reading comprehension, spelling, and writing conventions through the Wilson Reading System, a structured literacy program proven to help children in grades 2-12 and adults with dyslexia and language based disabilities. Many of my students have had great success, often demonstrating fantastic progress in literacy skills within the first 3 months of teaching, exceeding expectations of many parents.
In addition to a special education credential, I also hold a teaching credential in Single Subject English, and an MA in English and MFA in Creative Writing.

I offer private tutoring lessons to students who need additional assistance in improving English literacy skills, virtually or in person tutoring in San Diego, California.
Reading
Improve your child's decoding and reading comprehension skills with the Wilson Reading program. They will study words to learn how to pronounce, decode, and understand them, gain accuracy and fluency with their reading, and learn new strategies for understanding literary and informational texts.
Spelling
Through increased knowledge of words and word parts, your child will learn the skills to spell any unknown word on its own and in sentences, which will overall improve their written expression skills across all subjects.
